Establishment of Contact for Whistle-blowers (corporate ethics hotline
and in-house whistle-blower system)
As a means of rectifying acts that infringe the "Wacoal Code of Ethics" or the "Corporate Ethics: Wacoal's Code of Conduct" or comparable acts, we have established a corporate ethics hotline at Group companies and outside law firm office.
Through this system, we manage risk within the Wacoal Group rigorously and encourage self-reform. If people discover conduct that violates "Wacoal's Code of Conduct" or have any similar doubts, and find the issue difficult to solve within their workplace, this hotline provides a system for freely contacting us about it. We believe that this basic action will help avoid and minimize legal liability and damage for the companies and the violators.
Furthermore, this system complies with the provisions of the Whistleblower Protection Act. It therefore places the highest priority on protecting the confidentiality of information that could identify whistleblowers, and takes a zero-tolerance stance on threats or retaliation in the workplace against people who report issues.
We raise awareness of this system in domestic Group companies through the Group compliance newsletters ("Compliance Kawaraban"), and also check the awareness in overseas Group companies through questionnaire surveys and interviews. In addition, the system's performance record is posted on the intranet bulletin board at the end of each fiscal year for employees to see.
Operation process for the hotline

- *1In addition to internal contact points in each domestic and overseas group company, we have also set up external contact points operated by external law firms.
- *2After receiving a whistleblowing report, the contact-point department will promptly (within a maximum of 20 days) notify the whistleblower that the report has been received.
- *3After a whistleblowing report has been received, if the details need to be investigated, the whistleblower will be informed that an investigation into the facts will be commenced, then an investigation will be conducted. The utmost care will be taken to ensure that the privacy and human rights of the whistleblower will not be violated. Due consideration will also be given to the privacy of the people being reported.
- *4If the violation is "something related to accounting or auditing," we will promptly report it to the Audit & Supervisory Board.
