Introduction
In 2005, Wacoal Holdings Corp. started to issue a “CSR Report” in a printed version. In 2008, we changed the title of the report from “CSR Report” to “Communication Report,” placing greater emphasis on Wacoal’s passion and efforts toward achieving its goals, rather than an all-encompassing report on CSR activities prepared in accordance with specific guidelines. Since 2009, our Communication Reports have been only available as a PDF file on the Wacoal website, which is more eco-friendly. In 2010, we published a booklet titled “Our CSR” to enhance public awareness of our CSR activities.
In 2011, we released a new form of Annual Report (consolidated edition) that features a combination of the conventional Annual Report, which focuses on business results and business strategies for shareholders and other investors, and the Communication Report, a report on the Wacoal Group’s CSR activities. We hope that the report prepared in this new combined format will help enhance your understanding of the management strategies that will drive our growth as a company, and our unique CSR activities aimed at building mutual trust with society.
In addition, we have newly launched the CSR section on the Wacoal Holding website, to give clear and detailed explanations about our CSR efforts. In this section, a wide variety of CSR activities by the Wacoal Group are reported in accordance with ISO 26000. Editorial Policy
In November 2010, “ISO 26000:2010 (Japanese Standards Association),” a standards guide on social responsibility was launched by the International Organization for Standardization. This report was prepared and compiled based on the seven core subjects described in Chapter 6 of ISO 26000: (1) organizational governance, (2) human rights, (3) labor practices, (4) environment, (5) fair operating practices, (6) consumer issues, and (7) community involvement and development.
